Default Dumb Question Looking For Smart Answer

Been about 4yrs since i touched GW. I forgot everything.

If two mesmers are in the same party, do their hexes stack together? Say they both cast Conjure phantasm, do they stack to a total of -10 health degen?

Or if one of those hexes is stronger(lvl 7 Illusion compared to lvl 2) does the lvl 7 hex overwrite the lvl 2 if they dont stack?

Thanks for the help and pardon the dumb question.

From the wiki, page about effect stacking:
Quote:
Multiple copies of the same skill will not stack with each other. However, the beneficial effect of Hex spells that provide a bonus to the caster, such as Life Siphon do stack, so 3 copies of life siphon on different monsters will give 3...9 pips of health regeneration. 3 copies of life siphon on the same monster will give no more than 3 pips of health regeneration to the caster and no more than 3 pips health degeneration to the target because the hex itself doesn't stack, only its side-effect.
tl;dr version, two Conjure Phantasms = -5 degen.

As for your second question about different powers of the same hex - I'm pretty sure that it goes off whichever one was cast last, but tbh I'm half asleep and might be confusing it with something else.

im sure the last one to be cast will overwrite the 1st, no matter it's lvl of strength

yeah same thing happens whit ranger spirits or any other spirit , if i summon pain, eoe or any other whit low attributes like a lvl 5 spirit, and then some one else summons the same spirit lv2= lv2 will replace the lvl5.

so which ever skill was activated last will remain active

Not true for enchantments though; say I've got 14 healing prayers and cast vigorous spirit on myself, then 5 seconds later a wammo with 5 healing prayers casts it on me, it will renew the old version.

Actually, the enchantments overlap. For example, if someone were to have higher healing prayers cast Vigorous Spirit on you, then 20 seconds later, someone with lower healing prayers cast the same enchantment on you, you will notice the duration reset to 30 seconds, but after a further 10 seconds, the heal number per attack/spell changes to reflect the longer lasting second Vigorous Spirit (since the former VS already wore off).

The same happens with hexes.

TL;DR The stronger of the same enchantment/hex takes effect until it wears off, then the weaker one takes over, since it still has a duration.

Enchantments and Hexes don't overwrite. They overlap, but only the strongest one takes effect.

I can confirm this. When Sorrow's Furnace used to be farmed alot I noticed this happened a lot (I was the stance tank), as I often got Healing Breezes from different sources.

So this means that if my r7 Ranger hits the baddie with Asuran Scan, then my r9 guildie does the same thing, he gets his damage buffed by 69% and I get 63%?

I may have to test this, because IME it seems whenever someone else calls out an Asuran scan, my damage goes from 130 to 80. :P
